People Protecting Animals & Their Habitats-PATH advocates for the humane treatment of all animals, as well as the conservation and protection of areas that are vital to the survival of endangered or threatened species. We accomplish this by providing communities with educational and vocational opportunities that provide realistic and sustainable solutions that both improve the quality of animal’s lives, and stop habitat destruction.

Senator Daniel Akaka

Hawaiian Senator Daniel Akaka is the 109th Congress sponsor of the Downed Animal Protection Act. If passed, the Downed Animal Protection Act will help safeguard the nation’s food supply and will provide legal protection for animals that are injured or too sick to ambulate.  Senator Akaka’s bill will make “humane euthanasia” the law for disabled animals.  No longer will animals suffer as they are bulldozed, dragged, or pulled by chains to slaughter.  Senator Akaka has consistently voted to protect our nation’s public lands and natural resources, including marine habitats.
